The Reach One Teach One Inc. Tutorial Program was created to address the educational needs of all children and youth. Many young children do not have access to tutors during after-school hours. Their parents or guardians may not be able to assist them with their academic studies, becasue of their educational limitations. Many students are also raised by their grandparents, who often times only have an elementary education; therefore the work the students presents to them is unfamiliar.
This provides evidence that many children are not getting help with their homework, projects, and academic studies at home. The Reach One Teach One Tutorial Program was created to provide students with after-school tutorial sessions to address academic failure and also to Increase academic performance. Reach One Teach One tutorial programs will also address the following:
- Poor Academic Performance
- Lack of Parental Support
- Suspensions & Expulsions
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically... Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.”
- Martin Luther King Jr.
